Emily Yowonske is a high school educator who teaches the leaders of our future to think critically, work passionately, and care deeply for those around them. Emily's students challenge her to be a lifelong learner as she develops practices that foster engagement and growth.

Alongside her HFA colleagues, Emily has developed innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum for English and history courses and guided students to new discoveries through project-based learning. She is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project out of the University of Pittsburgh, a National Writing Project site.

Emily holds a Master of Education degree in English language arts education (7-12) and special education (7-12) from the University of Pittsburgh. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and educational studies from Emory University.
