New Castle Area SD
Director of Academics and Innovation
New Castle, PA
I am starting my 7th year as the Director of Academics and Innovation for the New Castle Area School District, and this is my 5th year as an adjunct professor at Waynesburg University. I have previously worked four years as an Assistant Principal at Peters Township High School and three years in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Prior to my administrative career, I was an English Teacher at both West Middlesex High School and Monessen Middle School. I have earned numerous degrees that include a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with certifications in English and Communications 7-12 from Clarion University and a Master of Education in Administration and Policy Studies from University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, I earned the following certificates from the University of Pittsburgh: Principal K-12, Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, and Letter of Eligibility.  I am highly passionate about how STEM, technology integration, and the Maker Movement are transforming teaching and learning. Recently, NCASD has partnered with Matt's Makerspace, Inc to become a Regional Maker Ed Hub for Western PA.
